Isn't "upscale" just a little redundant? (For some reason we don't use that word much out here in Olney. . .)

He probably just left his iPhone (the 'non-work phone') at the weekend house.

Just in case anyone didn't notice-- the acronym is BUYS.

Blackberry is actually more fashionable in some quarters.

This is just perfect. They actually closed the street - we'd never get away with that in lesser snoburbia. But true snoburbia, that's a different story! It's a professional sign - no sharpie on cardboard for them! And, as a beautiful bonus, they mention "upscale". As if we couldn't guess by the Bethesda location. I could weep it's so perfectly snoburban.

Do people in Snoburbia actually get up early enough to set up for a 6 am opening? I am (choose one) (a) impressed; (b) appalled; (c) aghast. I guess the servants do it, though!

This is just too priceless for words.

But those would be the lower hind quarters. In snoburbia, there are hierarchies in all things, and carrying a BlackBerry and only a BlackBerry pegs you as a GS-something Fed. There are certainly worse things, but you wouldn't be bragging about it.

What?
Among upper-middle class youths the Berry is significantly more popular than iPhone, because of BBM.
In fact, there are people who don't even bother getting messaging plans, as everyone in their circle has BBM.
Still, as long as it's not Android. Ewwwww.....

Overheard on a Bethesda listserv last week: "can we get a new charity to haul away our unsold items this year? The group that we used last year carelessly tossed boxes in the back of the truck - I could hear china breaking!!!"

Do you notice the time? 6AM to 5PM.
Do people in Snoburbia actually get up early enough to set up for a 6 am opening? I'm really surprised. It's too early for me.
